What is a solar independence system?
A solar independence system is designed to enable a home or business to become partially or fully self-sufficient in electricity by using solar power to meet its energy needs. This means that you are less dependent on the public electricity grid and generate your own electricity from solar panels, with an energy storage solution so that you can use it when you need it, even at night.
What is the difference between a solar independence setup and a simple solar installation?
A simple solar installation consists mainly of solar panels that produce electricity when the sun is shining, but without energy storage. A solar independence setup must include batteries to store the excess energy produced during the day, so that solar-generated electricity can be used at night or in the event of a power cut.
What are the advantages of an energy independence installation?
An energy independence installation will enable you to reduce and cancel your electricity bills and secure your energy supply. You can also benefit from continuity of service in the event of a power outage, if you wish. You'll be producing and consuming clean, local electricity from a sustainable source, helping to minimise your environmental impact.

Découvrez ce que nous pouvons vous apporter en plus :
Will I be completely independent of the public grid if I install a solar independence system?
Adopting solar energy does not necessarily mean total disconnection from the public grid. In fact, we recommend that you maintain your contract with the public grid so that you can split your consumption between your own system and public electricity to maximise the profitability of your installation. According to your wishes, we'll place the grid-independence cursor where you want it.
Can I achieve total autonomy?
Our solutions are scalable, which means that it is entirely possible to achieve total autonomy if that is your objective. We can adapt a pre-existing system or provide you with a complete system to suit your needs.
Can I adapt my existing system to convert it into a solar independence setup?
Yes, if you already have solar panels, we can supply and install one or more batteries on your existing system. However, this may require modifications and upgrades, including replacing the inverter if necessary. We will advise you on a case-by-case basis on the best solution to adopt.
What should I do if my current energy independence installation is no longer sufficient for my electricity needs?
If your current installation no longer meets your electricity needs, you have several options. You can consider adding more solar panels, increasing the storage capacity of your batteries, or reviewing the configuration of your system with the help of a professional. We can advise you on the best solutions to meet your energy needs.
What is an inverter?
An inverter is an energy conversion device. It converts direct current (DC) generated by solar panels or batteries into alternating current (AC), which can be used to power your home or business.
How long does installing an energy independence system take?
Installation time will depend on the size and complexity of the system you choose. In any case, you should allow at least one day for installation for a complete basic system.
Where will the energy storage system be installed in my home?
Our batteries are designed to be installed on the wall, on the floor, in the attic of your home, or any other space that meets feasibility, safety and aesthetic requirements.
Is the system noisy?
During the day, when the sun is shining and the system is producing electricity, the inverter emits a noise level equivalent to that of a kitchen fan. At night, it becomes practically silent, causing no discomfort.
Can I have more than one battery?
Most households only need one battery, but depending on your energy requirements we can add other batteries to your system.
In the case of businesses, it will usually be necessary to install several batteries (which will form a storage system) to cover your needs.
How much does a solar independence setup cost?
The cost of an energy independence system can vary considerably depending on the geographical region, size and complexity of the system. We will work with you to find the solution that is best suited to your needs and most cost-effective for you.
How much will a battery save me?
The savings will depend on your individual energy consumption: how much you use, at what time of day, etc. We carry out a detailed, personalised study for each project we undertake to inform you of your potential savings and maximise the profitability of your installation.
What is the lifespan of batteries?
The lifespan of batteries depends on the type of battery, its use and maintenance. On average, solar batteries last between 7 and 15 years. Sphinx batteries come with a 10-year warranty.
How long is the equipment guaranteed?
We give a long-term guarantee on our installations:
Solar panels: 25-year manufacturer's warranty on production;
Inverters: 10 years;
Batteries: 10 years;
To extend the lifespan of your installation, we offer maintenance contracts. For professionals, we also offer a lifetime warranty on your equipment. Don't hesitate to ask us about it.
The environmental impact of my system is important to me. Is solar energy sustainable in the long term?
A solar system does, of course, have an initial environmental footprint. But it produces 100% renewable energy over a period of more than 25 years without any CO2 emissions. What's more, your Sphinx Engineery contract already provides for the professional recycling of your equipment when it reaches the end of its life. We do our utmost to minimise the impact of our solar independence systems and offer you the most environmentally-friendly solutions possible.
