Job summary
The photovoltaic installation technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of photovoltaic systems. They must ensure that installations are carried out efficiently, safely and in compliance with construction and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Install solar panels and photovoltaic systems according to project specifications.
- Carry out site assessments to determine the optimum location for solar panels.
- Ensure the installation of mounting brackets and structures.
- Connect the solar panels to the electrical system.
- Check and diagnose existing systems, carry out repairs and updates as necessary.
- Ensure that all work complies with safety standards and local regulations.
- Document the installation, including electrical diagrams and performance reports.
- Work with design and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Train customers on the use and maintenance of their photovoltaic system.
- Regularly monitor the performance of installed systems.
Qualifications
- Degree in electricity, renewable energy or related field.
- Certification or training in photovoltaic installation is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, cabling and photovoltaic components.
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments.
- Technical problem-solving skills.
- Compliance with safety standards and regulations.
