Our history
The idea for Sphinx Engineery, which came to fruition in 2021 with the creation of the company, grew out of more than 20 years of experience and innovation in the field of energy efficiency.
The story, marked by a series of ventures and innovations reflecting the evolution of green technologies over the years, began with Laredj in the 1990s. An engineering graduate, he started his career working on optimising processors and improving technology for bank ATM machines. Soon, the concept of energy optimisation surfaced.
Laredj created a simple system that allowed independent hoteliers to reduce their electricity consumption by programming the lights to switch off automatically when a room was vacant. The system was a great success.
Various projects followed, focusing on heating and energy optimisation. Starting with Hybrid Solar, a company in which Laredj contributed to the design of a patented radiator, honoured with the Gold Medal at the Lépine Competition for its exceptional performance. Later, Laredj conceived an inertia boiler, designing a system in which the mass of the boiler is heated using solar electricity or grid electricity. This technological advance marked a significant step towards energy efficiency.
Subsequently, the France Solaire adventure marked a crucial milestone for Sphinx, with the first experiments in solar self-consumption in the 2010s, using lead-acid batteries to store the solar energy produced.
Laredj also played a major role in large-scale projects, notably within the OGC Alger, where he helped set up solar pumping systems in the middle of the desert. These systems enabled the original pumps to be powered using electricity generated by nomadic solar panels, providing a reliable and sustainable energy supply.
Today, by creating Sphinx Engineery, Laredj leverages all his experience to offer the best products to his customers in optimised, cutting-edge systems.
For this new adventure, he is surrounded by Alexandre and Veekie. Alexandre has joined the team, bringing his expertise in selecting key partners and suppliers, as well as overseeing quality control in China. He has established key relationships between Europe and China, strengthening the international dimension of Sphinx.
Veekie, Alexandre's right-hand woman, plays a pivotal role as a local intermediary, facilitating communication and collaboration with Chinese partners. In this way, she guarantees the efficiency of our operations.
